Enjoy Family Fun in Galveston with Lasers and Lights, Ice Land, Cirque Joyeux and More

GALVESTON, Texas (Dec. 19, 2019) – Round up the family and hit the road to Galveston for holiday fun. The island is abuzz with activities and exciting events perfect for a winter getaway.
New this year, free holiday laser shows synchronized to music will be projected on the tallest building in Downtown Galveston from 6 to 10 p.m. weekends through Dec. 22. See and hear the shows at the American National Insurance Company Building at 1902 Market St.
Saengerfest Park, located at the corner of Strand and 23rd streets, will be decked in holiday décor, including a 30-feet-tall Christmas tree and a giant snow globe for visitors to enjoy for free photo opportunities on the weekends. They’re part of a major décor overhaul encompassing the main corridors of the island’s charming, 36-block historic downtown district. Lights will stretch throughout downtown from 20th to 25th streets on The Strand as well as 20th to 23rd streets along Postoffice Street.
The Grand 1894 Opera House will continue its holiday show lineup on Dec. 21 at 8 p.m. with Christmas with the Five Browns. The family of five piano players will delight the audience with holiday favorites. The merriment continues Dec. 28 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. when Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer, the Musical takes the stage.
Moody Gardens is in full holiday swing with the Festival of Lights, Ice Land: Christmas Around the World, and the family-favorite holiday spectacular, Cirque Joyeux. Matinee performances will be offered on select afternoons for a lower ticket price. Dinner shows will also be available. Tickets to Cirque Joyeux performances include admission to Festival of Lights.
