Galveston Tourism Bureau Wins
American Marketing Association Awards
HOUSTON (May 18, 2015) -- The Galveston Island Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) received two awards from the American Marketing Association last week.
The CVB was honored at the AMA Houston Chapter's 29th annual Crystal Awards Friday in Houston, receiving awards in two categories for the bureau's 2014 "Winter Wonder Island" holiday marketing campaign.
The CVB's campaign, which generated more than 45 million impressions and directly increased tourism to Galveston during the holiday season, won awards for the best marketing campaign by a non-profit and the best event promotion campaign for a non-profit promoting three or more events.
Present to receive the awards on behalf of the bureau were CVB Marketing Director Melody Smith, Park Board Trustee Joyce Calver McLean, who serves as chair of the Park Board's Holiday Marketing Committee, and Historic Downtown Partnership Executive Director Trey Click among others.
